THERE will be great excitement as crowds gather for the annual fundraiser cycle for Ardee Hospice at the weekend.
People of all ages take part in this annual event even children as young as eight-years-old.
This is a real community effort with everyone coming out to support this worthwhile cause.
This wonderful Dromin fundraiser has been in operation for quite some years and has been very successful raising money for different charities.
The 35 mile cycle set off from the Village Saloon in Dromin then headed off to Dunleer, Monasterboice, Collon, Ardee, Tallastown, Castlebellingham, and Stabannon and returned to Dromin.
“I’m delighted to see so many people here for such a wonderful event many people have been cared for by the wonderful service of Ardee Hospice,” said committee member Larry Monagahan.
“Last year we raised €2,500 euro and we are hoping it will be as successful this year.
“I would like to thank Ferdia Arms Owner Frank Lynch for the refreshments which he provided for the competitors when they reached Ardee,” Larry said.
After the rally a barbecue took place at the Village Saloon in Dromin and there was music and entertainment provided by Woody and the finale of this great night came to an end with well known singer and musician Paddy Byrne.
