The residents of Ferdia Park Ardee have warned people to stop abusing the bring facility at the entrance to their estate.
“Ninety-seven per cent of the users are coming from outside the estate and area and they have been totally abusing it, including business people,” said Liz McKenny chairperson of the Ferdia Park Residents Association.
“The local residents spent two-and-half hours cleaning the place up one day. We even have business people from the town coming down here.
“We’ve had talks with the council, cameras were installed and to date 60 people have been fined.
“The place has been cleaned up and we are determined to keep it that way. But this should never be happening in the first place,” she said.
It is hoped to install more bring banks in the town.
