A NEW tourist inforamtion sign has been installed in Stabannon.

As part of the Stabannon enhancement project the Tidy Towns have erected the information sign

There was a special ceremony after Mass in the village centre. Peter Lynch, Crockerainey, unveiled the sign.

Fr Eamon Treanor then blessed it watched on by a large gathering from the Stabannon community. A cup of tea was served in the hall afterwards.

This project was 75 per cent funded by Louth Leader Partnership for which the Tidy Towns are very grateful. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a very enjoyable morning.

The Stabannon Tidy Towns committee have been very active in recent times. Last year they the local national school, Scoil San Nioclas, with a water butt which is used used by the school’s green team to conserve water.

Staff teacher Mrs Mary Brennan and the school’s green team worked hard all year on water conservation which resulted in the school getting its third green flag.
