Due to the popularity of the Annagassan Historical Society’s most recent exhibition The History Hall - located over Slan’s - will be open this Sunday from 2pm until 5:30pm.
It will be open each Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at the same time over the coming weeks.
The latest exhibition includes the exhibition of photos, memorabilia and original TV footage of Noel Carroll, Annagassan’s Olympic runner and one time world’s fastest over 800 metres. He represented Ireland in the Tokyo Olympics in 1964 and the Mexico Olympics in 1968.
There is also a new exhibition of artefacts connected with local shipwrecks. These supplement the exhibition of the Linn Duachaill Viking settlement which was rated one of the top 10 discoveries in the world last year. Admission €1.
