Former Dundalk FC striker Ciarán O'Connor has signed with First Division Finn Harps for the 2018 season.

O'Connor spent the first-half of last season - a campaign which resulted in Harps' relegation - at Finn Park and was a real hit, scoring five-times in 14 appearances as Ollie Horgan's men kept themselves out of danger.

However, having been recalled by Dundalk FC and sent on-loan to Bohemians, O'Connor was unable to gain as much game-time and he confirmed recently that he had departed his hometown club.

Speaking on the signing, Harps boss Horgan told the club's website: “Ciaran played for us in the first-half of last season and got five goals.

"We’re pleased that he has agreed terms for next season. He’s still only 21 but has gained a lot of experience over the past four years in the League of Ireland so hopefully that will be a big help to Ciaran and ourselves in terms of the standard of teams we well be up against in the First Division” he added.
