Paul Litchfield has been appointed manager of Kilkerley Emmets.

A former player with the club, Litchfield takes up the post he held - alongside Seamus Bellew - for the latter half of 2016 where he led Emmets to the quarter-final of the Senior Football Championship.

He managed Killanny Geraldines at the beginning of this year having previously been in charge of O'Connell's - whom he led to the Division Two title - and Naomh Malachi within Louth.

Litchfield replaces Gavin Cumiskey who oversaw Kilkerley in 2017, a year where they retained their Senior Championship status courtesy of a relegation play-off win over Cooley Kickhams having been relegated from Division One.

His backroom team will be assembled in the coming weeks.
