Condolences continue to woman killed in dog attack as death notice is published

Nicole Morey tragically died in an incident in Ballyneety

People from around the country have paid heartfelt tributes to a young woman who died after being attacked by a dog in Limerick.

Nicole Morey lost her life after being attacked by the animal just before midnight on Wednesday, with the incident taking place at a home near Ballyneety.

She had just marked her 23rd birthday, and the loss of a life so young has sparked people across the nation to send messages of sympathy and support to her family on www.rip.ie.

"So utterly heartbreaking to see a beautiful life cut short under tragic circumstances," one Irish mother wrote.

"Sincere sympathy to Nicole's parents, step parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, extended family and friends. Such a tragedy beyond words for you all. I hope you all find the strength to endure this in the coming days, weeks, months and years," a Limerick family wrote.

A family from Meath left the message which read: "RIP beautiful sweetheart. What a terrible tragedy for all your poor heartbroken family. May you rest in eternal peace xx."

A mother from Kerry added: "What an unimaginable tragedy. May her beautiful soul rest easy in the arms of angels."

"A gorgeous young lady taken too soon so tragically. Absolutely so so wrong for this to happen," was how a Galway family reacted.

And a Kildare family wrote on the website: "Please be assured of our prayers at this heartbreaking time in all your lives. There are no words to comfort you all at this time. God in his mercy will give you strength to bear this devastating loss."

A death notice has been published, which advises that the funeral details of Nicole - of Bawnmore View at Crosagalla in the city - will be given at a later date.

She is recently pre-deceased by her grandparents Patrick O’Donnell, senior and Marie Morey.

Nicole is also deeply regretted by her mother Lisa, father Patrick, stepparents Joseph and Nicola, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents Gerry Morey and Teresa O’Donnell, cousins, other relatives and her many friends.

The family have requested their house is kept private.
