A man has been arrested after cannabis worth over four million euro was seized in Co Wexford.
Cannabis herb and resin with an estimated value of 4,000,000 euro was seized at Rosslare Europort on Tuesday.
The drugs were discovered when Revenue officers stopped and searched an unaccompanied freight unit that had disembarked a ferry from Cherbourg in France.
A man in his 30s was arrested by gardai and was being detained at a Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
In south-east Dublin, two men were arrested on Wednesday after herbal cannabis with an estimated value of 490,000 euros was seized.
The operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, DMR East Divisional Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service.
A man in his 40s and a man in his 50s were arrested and have been detained at a Dublin Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Investigations are ongoing into the seizures, gardai said.
