RTÉ Director-General Kevin Bakhurst met with Ryan Tubridy 'in person' earlier this week
RTÉ has confirmed its new Director-General Kevin Bakhurst has met with star presenter Ryan Tubridy.
The former presenter of the Late Late Show is currently 'off the air' given the controversy which erupted at the end of June over controversial payments made by the broadcaster to him over a number of years.
Several reviews and enquiries are being carried out as a result of the revelations and two separate Oireachtas Committees have also begun examining the payments.
In a brief statement, issued this Thursday evening, a spokesperson for RTÉ said: "RTÉ Director-General, Kevin Bakhurst met with Ryan Tubridy in person this week for a one-to-one meeting. They had a good, open, and constructive conversation and will meet again in a few weeks."
RTÉ says it has no further comment on the matter.
