It's a frosty morning in Louth

While Louth escaped the very worst of the winter blast overnight, motorists are advised to take care this morning as many areas have been hit by heavy frost.

Louth County Council gritted all the usual routes from 1am but caution is still urged on local roads around the county.  Temperatures overnight dropped to as low as -4 degrees in Louth across the county while some parts of the country were hit with temperatures of -8 degrees.

It will be sunny and chilly in Louth today and temperatures will linger around -1 degrees.
