It remained tight in a low-scoring second half as Cooley edged ahead when Calum O’Hanlon pointed on at the end of the third quarter. Cian Connor found the net on 53 minutes, and although James Prendergast scored the Young Ireland's only point of the half, it was the Peninsula men who wrapped things up with O’Neill’s injury-time goal.

However, the O Raghallaighs rallied in the closing stages of the half, and a goal from Barry Finnegan, along with a point from Kyle McElroy, cut the deficit to three at the interval.

The Blues went into the match looking to bounce back from their opening day defeat to Stabannon Parnells, but they were never able to get a foothold in the game as they suffered a second successive defeat.
Dundalk Gaels fielded All-Star, Michael Quinlivan, in their starting line-up with the former Tipperary player weighing in with two points, while he saw Liam Coleman, Preston Keating find the net along with a Thomas Kavanagh brace to lead by 4-7 to 1-3 at the break. Top-scorer, Ryan Nugent, grabbed the goal for the Drogheda men.
Although there were no further goals after the restart, the visitors continued to pick off some nice points with Tom O’Connell taking his tally to seven, on a day when Luke Murray, Sean Murray and Jordan Keating were also among the points.

St Kevins 3-10 St Brides 1-16
St Brides and St. Kevins played out a thrilling draw in Group 1 of the Paddy Sheelan Cup, with the visitors striking late to earn a share of the spoils at Páirc an Chuinnigh.
In the first half of the game, both teams were evenly matched, exchanging scores throughout. In the second quarter, Brides edged their noses in front with a two-pointer from Aaron Devin and a point from Neil Thornton.
In the 30th minute, Senan Hoey, making his senior debut, delivered an excellent pass to Paddy Reilly, who found the back of the net.
The goal advantage was short-lived, however, as Kevins worked the ball up the field within two minutes and also found the net through Cian Callan to cut the gap at the break to 1-9 to 1-6.
Kevins were reduced to 14 men following a black card just before half-time. The third quarter was one that Brides largely controlled, making good use of their numerical advantage with points from Sean Marry, Senan Hoey, and Patrick Reilly.
Just after the numerical advantage was cancelled out, the game reached the turning point around the 10th minute, when a well-worked move from Kevins found Cameron Maher, who dispatched the ball to the Brides' net.
Within two minutes of that goal, Kevins worked another attack and were awarded a penalty, with Brides reduced to 14 men after receiving a black card.
TJ Doheny coolly found the Brides' net for the second time in as many minutes, followed by a point from Donnacha Boylan.
With ten minutes remaining, St. Brides steadied the ship with points from Senan Hoey and Niall Thornton to edge one point ahead. However, Kevins kicked a late equalising point in injury time to tie the game.

Nh Mairtin 1-10 St Patricks 1-9
Jack Lynch landed a dramatic late two-pointer to see Nh Mairtin snatch victory over St Patrick's in Lordship on Sunday morning.
After overcoming Glen Emmets in midweek, the hosts looked on course to secure back-to-back wins in Group 2 of the Paddy Sheelan Cup, only to be denied at the death as the Mairtins made a winning start to the season.
It was the Lordship side that got off to the better start with points from Aidan McCann and Darren Connor, only for the Mairtins to level through Sean Healy and Jack Lynch.
Ben Callanan scored the opening goal of the game on 13 minutes to give his side the edge, but scores from Sean Holland and Tommy Keenan helped the Pats edge ahead again.
Just before the break, Healy and Lynch struck for the Jocks to send the teams in level at 0-8 to 1-5.
The Pats were given a huge boost early in the second half when a Mairtins defender conceded an own goal, but the game was level when Tom Gray, Cathal Dorian and Lynch hit the target.
Martin McEneaney looked to have won it for the home side when he landed a free, but Lynch had the final say when he raised an orange flag to give his side victory.

Plunketts opened the scoring with a point from play, but Fechins responded well with points from Garbhan O’Reilly (0-2), James McGlew and midfielder Shane Reilly to take early control.
At the start of the second quarter, the visitors gained a foothold around midfield and drew level thanks to two placed balls and another from play.
Evan Dolan then raised the orange flag with a superb two-pointer from a free before James McGlew added another point, before Matthew Burnell scored the only goal of the game.
A late point from Mikey McMahon ensured Fechins led comfortably at the break by 1-8 to 0-6.
Tom Meegan, introduced at halftime, got Fechins up and running in the second period with a point before the sides exchanged scores.
Plunketts then enjoyed their best spell of the half, registering three unanswered points, two from frees, to reduce the deficit to just a single point.
James McGlew steadied the home side with an excellent two-point effort from play.
Substitute Harry Dowd split the posts to stretch the lead to four. Plunketts replied with a free on the 20-minute mark, but Fechins dominated the closing stages, converting their opportunities and adding five further points.

Roche Emmets picked up their second successive win of the campaign when they proved too strong at home to John Mitchels in Group 4 of the Paddy Sheelan Cup.
Following a narrow victory over St Mary’s the previous week, this was a much more comfortable outing for the Faughart side against a youthful Ballybailie outfit who had six players making their competitive debuts.
The hosts were quickly out of the blocks and picked off some good scores along with a goal from Sean Dawe to lead by 1-11 to 1-1 at the break.
The Mitchels battled throughout and earned their reward in the form of a John Gallagher goal and a point from Arthur Sands.
Sands added to his tally with a goal after the restart, while Eoghan McEneaney also raised a green flag for the visitors. Gallagher and Stephen Bingham pointed, but there was no denying Roche, who added 1-7 to their half-time tally to secure a comfortable win, with Andrew McArdle adding a second goal from the penalty spot in the closing stages.
