Ardee St. Mary’s ran out winners of the John O’Neill Sand and Gravel Louth GAA Division Four League after a strong second-half showing helped them to a 2-13 to 1-11 win over Cooley Kickhams at Páirc Na nGael, Dundalk on Tuesday evening.

Trailing by two at half-time (1-7 to 1-5), the men in blue came out firing after the break. A dominant spell midway through the second half saw them notch 1-6 without reply, turning the game on its head.

Cooley had started brightly and held a narrow lead early in the second half, but once St. Mary’s found their rhythm, they never looked back. Their second goal, coming in the 23rd minute of the half, proved decisive, pushing them six points clear.

Despite late points from Cooley, the gap was too much to close. In the end, St. Mary’s finished with a comfortable five-point cushion to lift the trophy.
