St Mochtas 3-12 Dreadnots 3-9
St. Mochtas maintained their perfect start to the Louth GAA Division 1 campaign with a hard-fought 3-12 to 3-9 victory over Dreadnots in a pulsating encounter in Clogherhead on Friday night.
Both sides came into the game with four wins from four, but it was the visitors who struck late through a Gerry Garland goal to seal a crucial win as his side fought back from an interval deficit.

The Dreadnots started brightly, with Ciaran Cunningham and Paraic Smith (penalty) finding the net to establish an early advantage.
However, the Mochtas ensured they remained very much in the game as a penalty goal from Decky Byrne saw them trail by just 2-5 to 1-5 at the break.
The Louth Village side had to up the pace in the second half and responded to the challenge with a goal from Jamie Farrell while Dara Quinn and Sean Flynn contributed important points.
The hosts also found the net through Owen Murphy to keep the game very much in the balance but it was the Mochtas who landed the decisive score with Garland’s late goal to move clear at the top of the table.

Sean O’Mahonys 0-16 St Marys 0-15
Sean O’Mahonys turned in a brilliant performance in Ardee on Friday night was they secured a magnificent victory over St Marys to record a second win of the campaign.
The Dundalk men certainly did it the hard way as they trailed by four points at the break, but produced the goods in the second half to come out on top by the narrowest of margins.
In a fine team effort, Terry Kelly caught the eye his impressive tally of nine points helped his side get over the line.
In a game where the first four scores were shared, the hosts edged ahead by 0-5 to 0-2 on 21 minutes and by the time the half time whistle sounded, they had edged ahead by 0-8 to 0-4.
With Ronan Caroll in fine form as he finished with six points it looked as if the Ardee men would continue to dominate
However, the O’Mahonys had other ideas and by the 42nd minute they had levelled the game at ten points apiece.
On a night when the visitors had scores from Conor Finegan, Kayden Fisher and Thomas Rice, they added the next three points to lead by 0-13 to 0-10.
Luke Keenan, Robbie Leavy and Kian Moran were among the scores of a Marys side who battled to the end but the Seans held on for a one-point win in a tense finish.

Nh Mairtin 2-19 Newtown Blues 0-10
Nh Mairtin remains just a point behind Division 1 leaders St Mochtas following this routine victory away to Nh Mairtin on Friday night.
The game represents another disappointment for the Drogheda side as they fell to a fifth successive defeat to remain at the foot of the table.
The Jocks made a flying start to the game with a Jack Lynch two-pointer followed by scores from Tom Gray and Ben Callanan to lead by four in as many minutes.
Although the Blues responded well with three successive points, they suffered a blow in the 15th minute when Gray fired in the first goal of the game to put his side back in control.
Shane Morgan was among the points before Val Leddy added the second goal on 25 minutes to send the Mairtins in at the break with a 2-10 to 0-6 lead.
The Blues, who had scored on the night from Eoin McCoy, Jamie Kelly and Emmet Murray, hit back with the opening two points of the second half. However, a comeback was never really on the cards as the hosts quickly restored their grip on proceedings.
Jack Murphy, Jake Neilon, Gray and Leddy all raised white flags as the Jocks cruised to their fourth win of the season.

St Josephs 2-18 St Patricks 1-16
St. Josephs made it a fourth win in Division 1 when they had a five-point victory over St. Patrick’s in Cluskey Park on Friday night.
Despite playing into the breeze it was the Pats who held the half time advantage, leading by 1-7 to 0-8.
The ever-dangerous Eoin O’Connor opened the scoring for the Pats after two minutes with Conall Smyth equalising a minute later for the Joes.
The teams each scored twice more before the end of the first quarter, but it was a two-point from Conor Neary that edged his side 0-4 to 0-3 ahead.
Neary added another double soon after but the Pats hit back with points from Aidan McCann, Conor McGuinness and O’Connor, along with a Padraig Duffy goal to lead by three entering the closing stages before a Ben Collier point cut the gap to 1-7 to 0-8 at half time.
However, the game turned at the start of the second half when Alan Quigley’s goal brought the Joes level and straight from the restart the hosts went on the attack again and this time it was Oisin McGuinness who drove the ball to the net.
The Lordship side responded well in an entertaining final quarter and with three minutes remaining there was just one point between the teams.
However, it was the Joes who found the extra gear and scores from McGuinness, Gabriel Bell and Conall Smyth helped them claim a five-point win.

Cooley Kickhams claimed their first win of the season on their fifth attempt when they came good at home to the Geraldines on Friday night.
The hosts turned into a dominant second half display as they came from behind at the interval to secure an important victory.
The result leaves the Gers still searching for their first point of the campaign as they remain level with Newtown Blues at the foot of the table.
Brian Devlin hit the net for the Gers in the opening half as his side led by 1-6 to 1-5 at the break but despite Jim McEneaney contributing five points, their challenge faded in the second half.

Hunterstown Rovers 0-20 St. Fechins 2-7
St Fechins picked up their first win of the season in Division 1 against Sean Barry’s high-flying Hunterstown Rovers side.
This was a workmanlike performance from the winners whose endeavour of the previous five weeks finally paid off on the night.
Rovers were flat as they suffered a second loss in a row in less than a week but Dean Burns did provide some inspiration with the first goal along with a Cian Matthews penalty. However that would not be enough.
The Feched led by 0-10 to 1-3 at the break with Aaron McGlew was in exceptional form along with Evan Dolan on the edge of the square who swung over two points from beyond the arc to instil belief to all those around him.
That was all John Kennedy’s side needed as they deservedly ran out comfortable seven point winners.
