Dundalk court: Man accused of seriously assaulting a young woman

A 24 year old man accused of two counts of seriously assaulting a young woman in Ardee, was remanded on bail at Dundalk district court last week following a contested bail hearing.

In addition to the two charges of assault causing harm, the defendant is also accused of a further charge of simple assault, and with stealing the alleged victim’s iphone.

The offences are alleged to have occurred on March 13th last.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan remanded him on bail to April 8th, subject to strict conditions.

They include that he has no contact with the complainant, that he stays away from the area where she lives.

He must also remain intoxicant free, signing on two times a week at Ardee garda station as well as observing a curfew from 11pm to 7am.
