Coillte’s Ravensdale and Carlingford forests will be two of the venues that will host part of the Trailtrekker team challenge on the 1st and 2nd of September.
The Irish event is one of 15 that take place across the world.
The events provide an exciting challenge for participants, as well as raising vital funds to support the work carried out by Oxfam.
Coillte Forest Manager, Dermot Cantwell, commented that “This is the third year that we have welcomed TRAILTREKKER to Coillte properties in Louth, and we anticipate another successful event that will raise much needed funds for the great work carried out by Oxfam Ireland in improving the lives of people around the world”.
TRAILTREKKER is an inspirational fundraising event which sees teams trek 50km or 100km through the Mourne Mountains to Carlingford on September 1st and 2nd.
Members of the public are welcome to attend to support the teams, and Trailtrekker are also inviting volunteers to help out with the event in anyway they can.
Trailtrekkers is part of a growing worldwide phenomenon of 15 events in 12 different countries.
Supported by global sponsor State Street, other partners that help to make TRAILTREKKER a success include 53 Degrees North, O’Briens, Louth County Council, Newry and Mourne District Council and Down District Council.
