Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan issued a message in Dundalk last Friday to those involved in the brutal murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
He was speaking at Dundalk Garda Station on the eve of the first anniversary of the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
“As we approach the first anniversary of the brutal murder of our colleague Adrian Donohoe, our thoughts are with Caroline and the children and the family,” Commissioner Callinan said. “I want to thank the people of Dundalk and Cooley for their outstanding support. The PSNI who have been particularly good to us in this investigation.
“Sterling work has been done here in Dundalk.”
And he also stated that people who come forward with help will be protected.
“Now is the time to come forward. There are people out there who are shielding the killers and it is not too late for them to do the right thing and tell us what they know.
“People have to make choices. Come forward and help us and we will leave no stone unturned to protect you.”
The five suspects are in their 20s, a gang of armed robbers from the north. Three of them are in the US. One is in Down. Up to 4,000 lines of inquiry have been followed and almost 4000,000 hours of CCTV viewed. The FBI, Interpol, and Dutch police have also helped.
