Five students from Dundalk Grammar School are seeking sponsorship from local businesses and individuals for an exciting trip to the Global Finals of F1 In Schools of which will be held in Austin, Texas this November.
F1 in Schools is basically the world of Formula One Racing and its Business miniaturized on to a 1/20th scale, students must design, manufacture and race a 1/20th scale formula one car.
The students have different roles and responsibilities within the group, Rian McDonnell is the Design Engineer, Luke Reid the Manufacturing Engineer, Erin Maguire acts as Team Manager and Graphics Designer, Craig McHugh is the group’s Marketing and Resources Manager and Dylan Clarke is the Website Designer.
Infinity F1 will represent Ireland at the F1 In Schools World Finals, and compete against over 50 teams from approximately 30 countries for the World Champions Title and Bernie Ecclestone Trophy.
Between now and when the team returns to school in September they must raise approximately €22,000 to fund their trip to Austin, Texas for the World Finals and also for the cost of the manufacturing of the car and display stand.
The team is appealing for the sponsorship of companies for which Infinity F1 can offer major National and International Publicity in the F1 industry. “We are appealing to anyone from any kind of company for their support through a mutually beneficial sponsorship deal or simply any donation or help,” said Marketing Manager Craig McHugh.
