A 17-year-old Dundalk DJ is making a name for himself having landed a gig in the town’s newest club - Studio 8.

Adam Heslin, from Castle Heights, has a passion for music since a very young age.

He would wake up with head phones on his head and fall asleep with them on.

Speaking to The Dundalk Democrat about his career, “DJ Hezzy” says

He said:”I did work experience in DundalkFM and a chart show at the station for a while.

“I played in local places around the town including Silence, Charlies and The Office.

“I’ve also been doing a lot of functions such as birthdays and weddings.

“I thought I was a nobody, who just had a passion for music. This drove me to practise my skills more and more everyday.”

Proud parents Marie and Frank, sisters Lisa and Sheena, brother Aidan have been supporting the DJ’s success.

“My family are great,” says Adam, “They offer me lifts here and there. They also listen to music playing in the house late at night when I am mixing stuff.”

Like any other young DJ in the music industry, there is only only place where Adam dreams of entertaining crowds - the party island of Ibiza.

However he acknowledges that he will have to work very hard to get there and take part in the very competitive music scene.

“Ibiza is the place I want to be,” says Adam, “I know I have a lot of hard work to get there, but I am willing to put in the hours.”
