Christmas and the New Year – a time of over-eating and having the odd tipple too many; well this year you can gorge yourself guilt-free, because a Charity Fun Cycle will shake off the cobwebs on December 30th.
With all proceeds going to the Louth Hospice and St Francis’ Nursing Home (Mount Oliver Dundalk), you’ll be doing your Christmas good deed while cycling off the pudding!
Following the success of last year’s inaugural cycle, the organisers have decided to attempt to make this year’s event bigger and better.
Again it will take place over a 15k course starting from Kilkerley Emmets GFC clubrooms at 2 p.m. on the 30th December.
There are the options of doing the 15k lap, or if you’re feeling fit enough, a 2 lap course of 30k is also available.
There will also be a 2k supervised course for children, so if Santa brings a bike for the little ones in your life, it’ll be the ideal place for them to try it out.
Registration for the race on the day is only €10, (under 14s are free) and sponsorship cards are also available for anyone who wants to receive sponsorship from others. Refreshments will be provided during and after the Fun Cycle.
ll proceeds of the cycle go to the 2 charities mentioned.
The contact numbers to register or for Sponsorship cards are Shane (085 1418066), Des (087 9201529) and Alan (085 1443279).
Entrants can also register by email on firstname.lastname@example.org, and a Facebook page has also been set up, search under “Saddle up for Christmas”.
