Ardee Traders are hoping to meet the new county manager Ms Philomena Poole to discuss the future of pay-parking in the town.
The pilot scheme that allowed the first hour of parking free has been abolished because the local authority is out of pocket since it was introduced.
Revenue is down e20,000 so it has been decided to abandon the scheme and revert to the normal parking charge.
However, traders still believe that this is not helping business and want the county manager to hear their case.
The traders insist that the hour’s free parking was a real incentive to get people to shop in Ardee and therefore was good for business and the local authority.
They have the backing of the entire Ardee Town Council on this.
