Celebrate Arthur’s Day 2013 at local quayside venue the Spirit Store where you can see some great acts perform and have a pint of the black stuff all for free.
At 17.59pm staff will be handing out some free pints of Guinness and oysters and at 7pm Drogheda bluegrass band The Watery Hill Boys will take the stage followed by various members of Dundalk band The Seasons at 9pm.
The Watery Hill Boys were formed in late 2011 and the groups individual members bring a wealth of experience in old-timey and bluegrass together to play their dynamic and tuneful version of music.
Also playing on the night are newly formed 6 piece alt-folk band, The Seasons from Dundalk who came to be as a result of each member’s love and appreciation of various folk styles from Irish to Americana. Band members include Kevin Wearen on harmonica and vocals, Seán Bradley on guitar and vocals, Dermot O’Connor on bass and vocals, Martin Finn on piano, Micky McKenna on 5string, banjo and vocals and Brian Casley on mandolin and vocals.
So if you like Guinness, Oysters, old timey American folk and bluegrass music, an open fire and much more then see you there.
