1,541 new homes were completed in Louth overall in 2025
There was a large increase in the number of homes completed in Louth last year according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), including a significant number in the final quarter (Q4).
Overall, 1,541 homes were completed in Louth in 2025, with 584 completed in Q4. Last year's total is up from 1,171 in 2024, and 1,081 in 2023.
Of the 1,541 homes in 2025, 1,031 were scheme houses, in other words, part of a housing development. This is up from 796 in 2024.
128 were one off, or single houses. This is up marginally on 125 in 2024, and down two on the 130 completed in 2023.
382 apartments were completed in Louth last year, up from 250 in 2024, and and 278 in 2023.
The figures also show that there were more homes completed in the A92 eircode area, which relates mainly to Drogheda and south of the county, but also includes parts of east Meath, than there was in the A91 eircode area, which relates mainly to Dundalk and the north of the county.

650 homes were completed in the Dundalk (A91) area last year, compared to 1,204 in the Drogheda (A92) area.
Nationally, there were 36,284 new dwelling completions in 2025, an increase of 20.4% from 2024.
The number of apartments completed in 2025 was 12,047, up 38.7% from 2024. There were 18,308 scheme dwelling completions in 2025, a rise of 13.1% from 2024. There were 5,929 single dwellings completed in 2025, up 12.5% from 2024.
More than half (57.6%) of completions for the full year of 2025 were in Dublin or the Mid-East (Kildare, Louth, Meath, and Wicklow).
In Q4 2025 there were 11,994 new dwelling completions, 38.5% higher than Q4 2024.
