he late Seamus Cassidy
The family of the late Seamus Cassidy of Carrickmacross, formerly Inniskeen, were warmly invited by the Inniskeen Enterprise Development Group (IEDG) hosted at the Patrick Kavanagh Centre recently for a special gathering to celebrate and thank Seamus and other members of the IEDG past and present who founded and nurtured the Centre into the magnificent attraction it is today.
Seamus eldest daughter Marie Cooney proudly accepted this special award in recognition of her late father’s vision dedication and commitment to the IEDG over his long tenure.
In attendance at the event were the Managing Director Darren Mc Creesh of the Patrick Kavanagh Centre, Robert Burns Chief Executive of Monaghan County Council, Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council Cllr. PJ O’ Hanlon, elected representatives Noel Keelan and Aidan Campbell.
The current Chairperson of the IEDG Martin Mc Geogh addressed all present. He acknowledged the ongoing work of the group and praised its current members for the delivery of new fresh ideas.
Martin commended their continuing efforts in strengthening the development of the group for future generations to come.
He highlighted how important it is to look forward to the future but equally important to pause, look back and reflect on where the journey began.
Martin reinforced the significance of honouring the founding members and to celebrate the legacy gifted to the Inniskeen community.
He reflected that what began as a dream in the minds of a small group of people, 35 years ago, has grown into something remarkable.
Through this groups combined energy and shared purpose the Patrick Kavanagh Centre was founded and established.
Today Martin reported it is a vibrant much loved space, one that attracts visitors from near and far.
The family of the late Seamus Cassidy said they would like to thank the IEDG for this prestigious award and to wish them continued success in the future.
