Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) has been awarded €4,200,000 in funding under the new Technological Enhancement Fund (TEF), a fund aimed at supporting the strategic development and enhancement of Technological Universities, Institutes of Technology and Specialist Colleges across the country.
The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science announced the funding today, with a total of €65.8 million will being invested across the State.

News of the funding was welcomed by Louth Fine Gael TD Paula Butterly, who said, “I am very pleased to confirm that Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) has been awarded €4,200,000 under this fund. I greatly welcome this investment, which represents a significant commitment to the future of higher education in our region."

"This funding comes at a particularly important time for DKIT, following its newly announced partnership with Queen’s University Belfast a collaboration that has huge potential for research, innovation, and skills development.
"I believe this investment will further strengthen DKIT’s position, enhance opportunities for students, and support the institute’s ongoing efforts to broaden its academic and research capacity."
Deputy Butterly added: “I will continue to advocate for DKIT with the Department to ensure that this investment translates into long-term benefits for students, staff, and the wider community. This is a positive step forward for the northeast, and I look forward to seeing the impact of this funding in the months and years ahead."
