Plans underway for construction of new six-storey hotel in Louth
Plans are underway for the construction of a new six-storey hotel in Louth, with a planning application lodged in recent days with the local planning authority.
Hallscotch Venture 2 Ltd has applied to Louth County Council for planning permission for the development at Marsh Road (to the east of Scotch Hall Shopping Centre), Drogheda, Co. Louth.
The proposed development comprises 107 bedrooms, lobby, bar and dining area, and associated service areas, along with all associated site development works
It also includes plans for vehicular (servicing and drop-off) and pedestrian access via New Road, to the east of Scotch Hall Shopping Centre, off Marsh Road; provision of 54 reserved car parking spaces within the existing Scotch Hall Shopping Centre car park; 22 bicycle parking spaces, and an enclosed pedestrian bridge connection from Level 1 (first floor) of the proposed hotel to the eastern end of the Shopping Centre Mall at Level 1.

A decision is due on the application, which is at a pre-validation stage, by 15 January, with submissions due by 16 December 2025.
