Louth County Council announces series of road closures in Dundalk region

The road closures are to facilitate essential maintenance and improvement works

Louth County Council has announced a number of road closures taking place in parts of Dundalk and Castlebellingham to facilitate essential maintenance and improvement works.

Cllr Maeve Yore shared details from the local authority on social media this week, saying that Louth County Council is advising the public of next week's upcoming road closures at Lurgengreen, Drumleck Castlebellingham, Armagh Rd Carnbeg, & R215 (N52), which are scheduled to take place as part of essential maintenance and improvement works.

The Council says that these closures are necessary to ensure the safety of both workers and the public, and to facilitate the timely completion of the project. The closures are as follows:

  • Location: Lurgangreen - Dates: 03/11/25 To 07/11/25 - Times: Full closure 8am to 6pm road will then open to all traffic after 6pm.
  • Location: Drumleck Castlebellingham - Dates: 03/11/25 To 04/11/25 - Times: Full closure 8am to 6pm road will then open to all traffic after 6pm.
  • Location: Armagh Rd Carnbeg - Dates: 04/11/25 To 05/11/25 - Times: Full closure 8am to 6pm road will then open to all traffic after 6pm.
  • Location: R215 (N52) - Dates: 05/11/25 To 14/11/25 - Times: Full closure 8am to 6pm road will then open to all traffic after 6pm.

Louth County Council added that advance signage and public notifications will be in place to minimize disruption.
