Homes for older people and persons with limited mobility in Ardee get go ahead
Louth County Council has given the go ahead for 21 new homes for older people and persons with limited mobility housing units in Ardee.
BKC Alliance Ltd applied to Louth County Council in August 2024, for planning permission for the development at Boat Trench in Ardee, seeking the go ahead for the demolition of a dwelling house and the erection of 22 older people and persons with limited mobility housing units.
The planned homes consisted of five blocks of single storey semi-detached and terrace buildings, containing 18 one bedroom units and four, two bedroom units. The proposed development also included the provision of a new access road & pedestrian access leading to public road, carparking spaces, covered bicycle spaces, bin storage enclosure, site lighting and revised site boundary treatments with associated site works.

Significant further information provided to Louth County Council in March of this year provided for, among other items, a reduction in units from 22 to 21. Louth County Council granted planning permission for the development on 16 May, subject to 22 planning conditions.
