Rise in Louth in number signing on Live Register

There was an increase last month in the number of people signing on the Live Register in Louth according to the most recent figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

Overall in Louth, 7,156 people signed on the Live Register in April, an increase of 219 on March 2025. In Dundalk, 3,229 people signed on in April, an increase of 62 or 2% on the previous month.

Ardee saw the largest percentage increase on the previous month, with 709 people signing on, up 53 on the 656 who signed on in March.

3,218 people signed on in Drogheda in April, up 3.3%, or 104 people, on the 3,114 people who signed on in March.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted Live Register total for April 2025 was 170,500 people, up by 7,400 people or 4.5% from March 2025. The unadjusted Live Register total stood at 167,960 people for April 2025, of which 54.4% were male and 72.1% were Irish.

The 25-34 years age group made up the largest number of those on the Live Register in April 2025 at 39,138 people or 23.3% of the total. In April 2025 there were 112,528 people on the Live Register for less than one year, which was 4,121 more people (+3.8%) than in April 2024.
