The Louth community is in shock today following the news of the sudden death in Australia of 23 year old Marie Claire Rogers.
The nurse and Naomh Fionnbarra & St Anne's GFG football player, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, following a short illness, while on a holiday in Australia to visit her sister.
The recently qualified nurse had arrived in Australia just several days previously, and it is understood her parents had been en route to Australia before she passed away.
The Togher and Annagassan community is in shock following her passing. Naomh Fionnbarra & St Anne's GFG said on social media: "Our club and community are beyond shocked and saddened at the sudden passing of our cherished club member and friend, Marie Claire Rogers in Sydney, Australia.
"As her many friends, team-mates, and colleagues come to terms with the devastating news, we offer our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the extended Rogers and Osborne families both at home and abroad. As a mark of respect to Marie Claire and her family, all club activities are suspended until 12noon on Wednesday.
