The countdown is underway for the 2025 Dundalk Show which takes place at Bellurgan Park on Sunday June 8th. Dundalk Show Society GLG says it would like to acknowledge the support received from Louth County Council, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and those who continue to sponsor different classes in the Show.
This year's schedule is available and can be viewed at www.dundalkshow.com or by contacting secretary@dundalkshow.com
As usual, there are classes for Home Industries, Baking, Knitting, Crochet, Woodwork, Photography, Art, Horticulture, Horses and Ponies, Cattle, Sheep, Poultry, Eggs, Dogs and more.
This year there are some changes in the children's section. There are Arts and Crafts classes where a School/Group with the most prize winners in these classes will receive €100 towards funds. The deadline for these classes is Friday 9 May. There is a School/Group Challenge “Reuse Your Rubbish”, focussing on a fun exhibit using recycled containers to make a colourful eye-catching display.
There are Children's Gardening and Baking classes and this year Dundalk Show Society CLG is teaming up with Dundalk Food and Drink Society to stage “The Great Dundalk Bakeoff 2025”.
There are also Lego competitions and an “All Ireland Junior Craft Championship Qualifier” which is also based on Lego.
Dundalk Show always emphasises the importance of local and rural traditions, explaining where the food comes from and the path taken from farm to fork.
