The Long Walk Shopping Centre
Plans are underway for a redevelopment of the Long Walk Shopping Centre in Dundalk, with a planning application lodged with Louth County Council.
Lindat Limited has applied for planning permission for the development at the Long Walk Shopping Centre, which if given the go ahead, would principally consist of the amalgamation of Unit 12, 13/14, 15 and part of 16, to create an enlarged unit, and the change of use from retail to café, with the remaining area in Unit 16 to be used as a smaller retail unit.
The applicant also seeks the go ahead for the amalgamation of Unit 6, 7, 8 and 9, to create an enlarged retail unit, and the amalgamation of Unit 34, 35, 36 and 37; and the amalgamation and change of use of Unit 38; a service corridor; management office; and part of the mall floor area; all to create an enlarged retail unit.
The planning application also provides for the removal of the canopy, replacement light fixtures and new shopfronts all along the eastern and part of the southern elevation of the building; internal modifications; signage; and all associated works.
A decision is due on the application, which is at a pre-validation stage, by 14 April, with submissions due by 24 March.
