Almost €11 million government funding announced for roads in Louth

Includes funding for bridge repairs

Louth County Council is to receive €10,992,550 in government funding for regional and local roads, including €301,000 for bridge rehabilitation in the county, it has been announced today.

The breakdown of this year's funding is as follows: 

  • Restoration Improvement - €5,195,000
  • Restoration Maintenance - €652,000
  • Supplementary Restoration Maintenance - €571,000
  • Discretionary Grant - €1,255,500
  • Bridge Rehabilitation - €301,000
  • Specific Imp. Grant - €198,000
  • Strategic Regional & Local Roads - €380,000
  • Safety Improvement Works - €257,500
  • PSCI: Survey Support - €11,000
  • Training Grant - €40,000
  • Drainage Works - €288,500
  • Former National Roads - €540,000
  • Speed Limits Review Signs - €98,500
  • Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience Works - €256,500
  • Community Involvement Scheme - €248,050
  • Reclaimed Asphalt Pilot - €700,000

Overall, this year's allocation is down from €12,899,450 in 2024, this however is due to a Specific Improvement Grant of €2,100,000 allocated last year to the Obelisk Bridge and the Boyne Link Road project. When this is excluded, the amount allocated this year is €193,000 up on last year.
