The Louth club and its volunteers are acutely aware that not everyone is lucky enough to have loved ones to spoil them at this time of year, particularly the elderly.
Louth Village Youth Club, located in Dundalk, have taken it upon themselves to put together a care package for residents in St Joseph's Hospital Ardee.
St Joseph's Hospital, located in Townparks, is a nursing home that provides quality elder care services, and has a maximum occupancy of 17. The staff's focus is on providing comprehensive care tailored to the unique needs of each resident.
The dedicated members are trained professionals who prioritize the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the elderly, as well as ensuring that residents receive the highest standard of care possible.
The Louth club and its volunteers are acutely aware that not everyone is lucky enough to have loved ones to spoil them at this time of year, particularly the elderly, and so they want to give back, and make sure the Christmas spirit touches every local, in some way.
The organisation took to Facebook, in hopes to encourage members of their club to bring along one or two small items to add to the hamper, while also encouraging, family, friends, and the greater Louth community to get involved for this good cause.
Until Friday, December 13, the club will be collecting things that an older person would like, or need. For example, puzzle books, socks, sweets, chocolates, deodorant, pens, or books.

However, you can donate whatever you desire, as long as it is keeping in mind who the hampers are for.
The youth club is ran by a group of volunteers who believe that there should be something in the county for young people to partake in.
The club is committed to each child, while ensuring they have fun whilst learning in a safe environment.
The club runs a variety of classes and events, such as, Lego brix breakfast club, board game nights, baking, a youth club ( which hosts four different groups so there is something for children of all ages), and much more.
You can get involved today by making contact with the Louth Village Youth Club on Facebook, or alternatively, you can call the group on 086 409 3329.
