Planning permission sought for new mixed use development at Francis Street

Plans are underway for a new mixed use development at Francis Street in Dundalk, that if given the go ahead, would see the construction of 24 new apartments in a six storey building.

Paula Tiernan has applied to Louth County Council for planning permission for the development, seeking the go ahead for the demolition of an existing single storey office building and the construction of a six storey mixed use building.

The applicant is proposing to construct two commercial units at the ground floor level and 24 apartments over five storeys  above. The apartments would comprise 18 one-bed and six two-bed units; with levels one to four consisting of four, one-bed and one, two-bed apartments; and floor level five consisting of two, one-bed and two, two-bed apartments.

The planning application also provides for bin storage, cycle parking, pedestrian & vehicular entrances, car parking, site lighting, foul and surface water drainage, revised site boundary details and all associated site development works.

A decision is due on the application, which is at a pre-validation stage, by 16 January 2025, with submissions due by 17 December 2024.
