Work began on 436 new homes in Louth in September
Work began on 436 new homes in Louth in September, according to the latest figures released by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
This is up from 198 in August and the second highest number of commencements in any month this year in Louth, apart from April, when work began on 970 new homes. So far this year, work commenced on 2,208 new homes in the county, almost double the amount started in the whole of 2023, when work began on 1,118 new homes.
Of the 436 new homes started in September, eight were one off units. So far this year work has commenced on 86 one off units in Louth, up from 80 during the whole of last year.
Nationally, there were 11,385 homes commenced in September 2024. For the first nine months of 2024 (January- September), there were 49,007 homes commenced which is over double (up 105%) from 23,923 in these months of 2023.
Of the 49,007 homes commenced so far this year nationally, 4,229 were one off units
In the last 12 months (October 2023 to September 2024) there has been 57,885 units commenced, up 93% from 29,961 in the prior 12 months (October 2022 to September 2023).
