Lifelong friends now turned publicans and stubby beer suppliers, Cillian Mulligan, Paul Kelly and Vino Mulligan from Mo Chara recently collaborated with Japanese Denim icon Edwin to create their very own custom uniform.

The owners of the popular pub said Mo Chara meaning ‘my friend’ in Irish, is a neighbourhood pub in Dundalk built on the concept of friendship and re-creating the Irish public house as a space for the community.

“In the spirit of true friendship, they've collaborated with Japanese Denim icon, Edwin, to create their very own custom uniform that you too can now rep!”, the added.

Launching to the public last Thursday, the limited drop features a custom neon-like illustration by Check Morris inspired by a Japanese interpretation of the Mo Chara mascot 'Mo' now ‘Su-Mo’ with a stubby in hand.

The new merchadise includes a 14oz Red Listed Selvage Denim apron, a limited edition oversized tee & a 100% cotton tote bag - all made by Edwin who have been committed to craftsmanship since 1947.

The Mo Chara lads said they are hugely excited to be teaming up with such a progressive denim brand that blends their Japanese background, craftsmanship & expertise with a European contemporary flavour, vision and attitudes.

Cillian, said: “We are absolutely buzzing to be linking up with Edwin and they’ve been a dream to deal with.

“Edwin is stocked at the town’s top men’s retailer Tony McDonnells and once the chance presented itself we jumped at the opportunity to create something unique.

“The initial idea was to create a bespoke uniform for our staff but then we thought it just looked too good to keep for ourselves”.

Sam Bloor, Marketing Manager at Edwin Europe, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Mo Chara to create these truly unique staff uniforms for the team and the wider world alike. W

“We see a lot of similarities between the brands and being so close to one of our top stockists, Tony McDonnells, it really was a no brainer for us!”

But the lads weren’t done there and they had to launch the collab in true Mo Chara style with an all day party.

Things kicked off in Tony McDonnells with some Mo’s Lager stubbys and sushi for guests before making the short walk to Mo Chara for a kitchen pop-up by Japanese food giants Yamamori Izakaya who made the trip up from Dublin.

Handmade sushi and ramen replaced the usual Neapolitan style pizza to a sell out crowd.

Tokyo native, Emmy Shigeta, set the vibe for the evening spinning some 90s Japanese vinyl.
