Thirty needles found around Dundalk streets

Councillor Nash said that local shops were complaining of an upsurge in shoplifting

Dundalk JPC hears thirty needles found in the Quay/Peter Street area

The matter was brought up at Tuesday's Dundalk Joint Policing Committee JPC meeting.

Anti-social behaviour in Quay Street and the surrounding areas was brought up by Councillor Robert Nash at Tuesday's Dundalk Joint Policing Committee JPC meeting.

Councillor Nash said that thirty used needles had been found in the Quay Street/Peter Street area on the previous Saturday morning and that there was disquiet among local residents following incidents of anti-social behaviour and reservations surrounding the proposed Simon Community Units slated for Barrack Street.

He further said that local shops were complaining of an upsurge in shoplifting.
