Dundalk court: Abusive behaviour case struck out

A 23-year-old man who was seen to push a man and attempting to punch another after he was advised to leave the area, had the case against him struck out at Dundalk district court last week after he made a charitable donation of €300 to the Turas Counselling service.

Dylan McCarthy with an address at Railway Village, Jenkinstown was before the court charged with being intoxicated in a public place and using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour on Park Street, Dundalk on October 2nd last.

The court heard gardai who were on patrol had spoken to the defendant and the man he was initially seen pushing but no complaint was forthcoming and he was advised to leave the area but they later saw him shouting and acting aggressively and attempting to punch another man.
