Louth cllr says extensive progress made on broadband and phone coverage in Cooley area

Cllr Reilly says extensive progress going on behind the scenes to improve fibre broadband and mobile phone coverage
Dundalk-Carlingford's Cllr John Reilly says that he is delighted to see progress on the extension of fibre broadband in the Cooley peninsula.
Cllr Reilly says he is very confident that in the new year the Cooley Kickhams complex will have access to fibre broadband through funding from the Department of Rural and Community Affairs. "This is an important step forward", he says, as fibre "broadband can be the cornerstone of a future digital hub in the Cooley Complex building".
In addition to this he says, Cooley Credit Union will soon benefit from landline fibre broadband, making financial transactions more swift and prompt.
The mobile phone signal in the Willeville, Templetown and Ballynamony areas has always been poor, according to the Fine Gael councillor, and with the help of the company Get Connected, he hopes these areas will soon see an improvement in their mobile phone signal.
Cllr Reilly says that Get Connected has informed him that they will be doing a drone survey of the area, weather permitting, before Christmas. This will allow Get Connected to map the area and be able to install the relevant infrastructure that will alleviate this problem.
