Four Seasons Hotel Carlingford launches their own house gin

Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford, launches own house gin, for a true taste of Carlingford, that you can enjoy at home.

Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford have announced the launch of a new house gin, Fiadh under their new retail brand ‘Lough Larder’ to be available from the hotel and locally.

With botanicals from both the mountains and the sea including rowan berries, meadowsweet, dillisk (seaweed) and mouse ear (flower), bottled up to create a true taste of Carlingford.

This is the first product launch under the new ‘Lough Larder’ retail brand by the hotel, with more products to be released soon.

James McKenna, Deputy General Manager at the Four Seasons Hotel, Spa & Leisure Club said: “We wanted to create something special; that was unique to Carlingford and captured all its essence.

“A gin that would be a celebration of all the weird and wonderful things that can happen, where the mountains meet the sea.

“Firstly, we identified what we wanted people to experience, we studied local resources and walked the mountains and shoreline where we identified botanicals that fitted with what we were trying to capture.

“Once we knew what we wanted, we reached out to our friends in Listoke Distillery, Co Louth and over the course of seven months they helped us develop several batches of gin, each one more refined than the last, tweaking our recipe until we found what we were looking for.

“The final design process was the label featuring the artwork of Irish based, award-winning artist Lauren McKenna.”

Fiadh gin will be available to purchase from the hotel, enabling the local community and those further afield to purchase and enjoy this unique gin at home.

“This announcement is just the start of the Lough Larder brand with many retail products to come as we expand into new channels.”

Fiadh is now available to buy from the Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford.
