The Black Belt recipients from Cuchulainn Practical Martial Arts Club and Dundalk Martials Arts Club following a joint training session
Cuchulainn Practical Martial Arts Club welcomed the senior students of Dundalk Martials Arts Club on to their mats to train in a mixture of different styles and techniques.
Instructor Malcolm Ladley’s club trains in a mixture of styles, including Judo, Kapap, Okinawan Karate and self-defence. Instructors Bernard Duffy and Gerard Duffy, teach a mix of Kickboxing and Wado Ryu Karate and self-defence.
Both these clubs place a high emphasis on self defence and the highest standers of discipline in their training. Students from both clubs spent the evening with all three instructors teaching their respective disciplines. At the end of the evening all students were excited to join together to train again.
The night ended with Instructor Malcom Ladley (7th Dan Black Belt) awarding Dundalk's Bernard and Gerard Duffy their next black belts. Bernard received his 5th Dan Black Belt and Gerard is up to his 4th Dan Black Belt.
Malcom’s own students recently received their next black belts too. Stephen McMahon received his 3rd Dan Black Belt, while Rachel McMahon and Malcom Ladley Jr both received their 1st Dan Black Belt.
Both clubs have a great legacy of high achieving students, with most going on to the black belt level.
