Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) was recently nominated in the Not-for-Profit category of the 2022 Northeast Business Excellence Awards for its establishment of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTCE) at Xerox Technology Park in Dundalk.

It was the organisation’s first time to enter the competition and members of LMETB and AMTCE attended the gala dinner and awards ceremony on Saturday 26th November at City North Hotel.

The Awards are a showcase for the very best in business in the region and Martin O’Brien, chief executive of LMETB and founder of AMTCE, said:

“I am very proud that my team at LMETB and the AMTCE have been recognised externally for all their hard work and contribution to date.

“Congratulations to the Drogheda Community Policing Team on their win in our category and thank you to the Drogheda and District Chamber for a great night.

“It’s been a remarkable few months for growth and investment news and as we head into 2023, the future is looking very bright indeed.”

Earlier in November, Minister Simon Harris visited the AMTCE to announce an €11 million investment in the Centre, which was established to deliver hands on skills-oriented training needed to underpin the transition of Irish enterprise to industry 4.0 based operations, with a focus on the multi-billion manufacturing, pharma, food & drink, construction and engineering sectors.
