Dundalk sees continued rise in Live Register figures
There has been a rise for the fifth consecutive month in the number of people signing on the Live Register in Dundalk, according to Live Register figure for April, released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) yesterday.
3,414 people signed on the Live Register in Dundalk in April, up from 3,378 in March. Since November 2021 when the number of people signing on in Dundalk was 3,016, the number has been on the increase, with 3,378 signing on in March and a further 36 signing on in April of this year.
Ardee has also seen a slight increase in the number of people signing on. 795 people signed on the Live Register in April, up 18 from March and up 107 from February, when 688 people signed on - the lowest figure so far this year in Ardee. In Drogheda, the number of people signing on in April increased by 92 on the 3,368 reported in March, and up 486 from the number reported in February 2022.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted Live Register decreased by 2.2% to 177,100 over the month to April 2022. The unadjusted Live Register total for April 2022 was 177,004 persons; this consisted of 97,390 males (55.0%) and 79,614 females (45.0%). Of those on the Live Register for April 2022, 17,120 or 9.7%, are under 25 years of age, while 159,884 or 90.3%, are 25 years of age and over.
