Development planned at Dundalk Grammar School
Planning has been lodged with Louth County Council this week for a development on the grounds of Dundalk Grammar School.
The Board of Governors of Dundalk Grammar School have applied to the local authority for permission for a development within the curtilage of four protected structures on the school grounds: Dundalk Grammar School, Protected Structure ID no. D151; former Louth Hospital/Infirmary, Protected Structure ID no. D154; House at Louth County Infirmary, Protected Structure ID no. D416; Gates, Railings, Walls, Protected Structure ID no. D427; and Junior School former Doctor's House, Protected Structure ID no.D496.
The proposed development consists of the demolition of existing single storey covered shelter and stores and the construction of a new two 2 storey building consisting of reception, lobby, meeting rooms, offices and toilets. It also seeks permission for minor amendments and necessary repairs to the existing wall, as well as amendments to proposed car parking that permission has previously been granted.
A decision is due on 9 May, with submissions due by 18 April.
