LOUTH WEATHER: Settled, dry weather in store for 'foreseeable'
Local weather expert Louth Weather is forecasting a prolonged period of good weather for the area.
In an update on social media today, the weather guru said it should be "dry for the foreseeable future".
"This is the forecast I wanted to give during the summer months, but it never happened. High pressure takes increasing control of our weather. With the exception of some light rain early today and Sunday, it should be dry for the foreseeable future. These areas of high pressure can hang about for some time and in this case I think we'll be looking at settled weather for the next ten to twelve days.
Meanwhile today will start to see this upswing in good weather beginning.
"An improving day as pressure builds over us. Any lingering rain will clear soon. Some patchy light rain may occur at times this morning but it will be mostly dry. Generally cloudy though the sun will break through later on. Moderate westerly winds. Max 17°C."
"Drier, sunnier, warmer and lighter winds than we would expect at this time of year. Some light rain could develop Sunday.
