Dundalk hosted a rare royal visit as His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi of Nigeria came to town this afternoon.

The Nigerian monarch is the king of one of the ten tribes of Nigeria - the Yoruba Kingdom - and during his visit to Dundalk today he stopped into the County Museum on Jocelyn Street for a guided tour hosted by curator Brian Walsh.

He also visited Ladywell Shrine on the Dublin Road during his whistle-stop tour and also stopped into the Home of Football - Oriel Park - on the Carrick Road to watch an Afro Stars FC side from Dundalk's African community take on Cavan & Monaghan U19s.

Prior to his local engagements here he was also in Maynooth.
