A 39 year old man accused of stealing a laptop computer and a phone from an address in the town, was unable to attend court as he is currently in hospital, his solicitor told Dundalk district court last week.

Paul Quilton with an address at Barrack Street, Dundalk is accused of committing the alleged offence at Beacon Court, Coe’s Road, Dundalk on April 13th last.

He was also due to appear before the court in relation to three public order charges at Earl Street, Dundalk on March 30th and with causing damage to 20 euro worth of beer cans at Mace, Castletown Road, Dundalk on December fifth last.

The cases were listed last Wednesday for the preparation of a psychiatric report.

The Defence solicitor told the court that Gardaí were aware of her client's hospitalisation.

After he heard that a lengthy adjournment was being sought, Judge John Coughlan put back the case to the ninth of October and ordered an updated Probation report.
