Two Dundalk women are going to face their fears and jump out of an airplane to raise funds for local girl Sophia Griffin.

Stacey Kane and Michelle Shields, both from Dundalk, will be doing a tandem skydive in aid of Happy Feet For Sophia on June 29 in Longford with Skydive 4charity.

Sophia's mother Catriona praised her friends for taking part and urged anyone who can help to support the cause.

"They have sponsor cards and really need to get as much as they can. So if any businesses could help them out would be fantastic."

Sophia, who is 3-year-old lives with Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy and PVL brain injury, leaving it hard for her to walk. She needs life-changing surgery in the US and Happy Feet For Sophia was set up to drive the fundraising effort.
