Bush Post Primary pupils from Riverstown, Dundalk, are celebrating this morning after their project 'Let's Talk About Consent' took top prize at the Young Social Innovators of the Year Ireland Awards in Croke Park yesterday.

Taking to Facebook, school spokesperson Colette Owens praised the hard work and "superb" effort of the group.

"To say how proud I am of this TY group of young innovators from Bush Post Primary School, is an understatement."

She added: "They have been a superb group of young people to work with and to guide throughout this whole YSI journey.

"They have worked tirelessly, around the clock on this project. They have stood up and spoken so articulately and passionately about the topic of sexual consent and that is something I truly commend.

"I know the future is in safe hands when we have young people, like these 29 students and all the other YSI groups throughout the country, leading the way.

"Let’s support this group on their journey as they continue to educate and encourage everyone to engage in conversations about the importance of consent."
