Homeless figures for Louth continue to rise

156 people reported as homeless in Louth in March according to the Dept of Housing's March Homeless Report, released this evening. 

This is up six from last month and is a return to the figure recorded in January, which was then a 25% increase on previous recorded figures.

The only counties in Ireland which reported higher numbers are Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Kildare.

The Homelessness Report, places Louth in the North East region along with Monaghan and Cavan.

Monaghan recorded seven people as homeless, up from six the previous month, and Cavan recorded ten - up from five in February.

19 families presented as homeless in the North East in February, down from 20 in February.
